Current Activities

My primary interests lie in the area of organic chemistry and chemical education. I am currently teaching Organic chemistry (CHEM 227 & CHEM 228) to about 300 students and supervising Organic Chemistry Laboratory courses each semester. These courses teach the foundational principles, reactions and mechanisms in organic chemistry, serving students from various disciplines in the College of Science, College of Veterinary Medicine and College of Engineering to name a few. I also help teach and supervise CHEM 234 in the Spring semester. This class is a writing intensive lab course for chemistry majors, wherein we teach them the basics of writing for a scientific journal.

Aside from teaching I also enjoy volunteering at the Chemistry Open House and serving as a judge for the Texas Junior Academy of Science.
