Bioinorganic Chemistry

Bioinorganic chemists explore the many roles that metals play in biology using various spectroscopic and bioanalytical techniques. They synthesize small molecule models of the active sites of Nature's exquisite catalysts, metalloenzymes, in attempts to match their structures and functions and also develop chemotherapeutic agents and study their mechanism of action.
