very helpful, willing to give of her time, she gives lots of opportunities for you to bring your grade up, so if you are not having too great of exam grades, you still have a great chance of making an A, or a B, depending on where you stand. shes lenient on deadlines
Drawbacks
she gives a lot of opportunities to improve your grade, but at the same time, it is A LOT of work to do. there are MANY assignments and they can be quite time consuming, especially chem skill builder. you have the opportunitity to make a good grade, but you have to do the work, and its a lot of work"

Strengths
I thought I hated chemistry, like I did in high school. However Dr. K was great. All you have to do is come to class, do the CSB, CPR, and BOPs (homework problems) and you'll do well on her test. Sure it sounds like a lot of work but doing these will prepare you for the test, and they'll raise your grade anyways. The BOPs add 2 points to your final grade for instance. Overall she's my favorite professor I've had so far.
Drawbacks
Her only drawback is that she isn't teaching this summer. I have to take chem 102 from some other guy. I would have preferred learning from Dr. K instead."

Strengths
I loved Dr. K's class!! She makes Chemistry understandable. This was my second time taking Chem 101 cuz i had to drop. She will help you out if you try. She gives you lots of grades so if you do bad on a test it makes up for it.
Drawbacks
You have to keep up with the work, there is alot!!"

Strengths
Dr. K is a very fair professor and she concentrates on the main concepts of chemistry. Her exams are not very hard as long as you go to class, look at her old exams, and do the homework problems. The homework problems really do help for the exams and you can also turn them in for extra credit. She curves tremendously compared to other professors because she understands that not all students are going to be great chem students. She is always willing to stop lectures to answer questions as well.
Drawbacks
She has pop quizzes in her classes but she drops the lowest 3. Also, she has extensive CPR assignments but they don't take very long to complete. She also pushes students to write more in lab by including summaries and abstracts when turning in lab reports."

Strengths
i absolutely love her style of teaching. after teaching a lesson she reviews it by giving a step by step instruction of how to complete certain kinds of problems. how many profs do you know do that? She is very understanding when it comes to grading especially when it comes to the writing assignments. She offers a weekly lab review that is awesome for completing the labs and understanding them. I failed this course with another prof last semester but currently have an A. She is very patient and her extra assignments help. She even offers EXTRA CREDIT problems! who does this?!?!
Drawbacks
There is lots of extra work in this class such as CPR or essays. We also have to complete computer homework. Overall the extra stuff really helps and betters your grade. its true cuz i have an A now!... she is an awesome person and really knows her stuff. she is definitely NOT scary to talk to which i loved in a serious course prof."

Strengths
Dr. K is an awesome chemistry 101 prof! She knows chemistry and knows how to teach it. Her teaching method is very insightful and easy to follow, yet it isn't boring. Her tests come straight from the notes she gives you in class (which are posted online) and she won't pull any surprises on you. If you study what she gives you and you go to her weekly reviews, you will have no problems. I got 100's on the first two exams, and hopefully I will on the third one. She makes it possible to do very well in her class even if your tests aren't that great through bonus opportunity problems and such.
Drawbacks
One thing I didn't like was the amount of writing we had to do. For each lab, you are required to write an additional summary and abstract, each about a paragraph long. These aren't hard, and can actually better your understanding of the lab, but it can sometimes be a pain to remember to do them. We also have 4 CPR writing assignments over material covered in class. THese have to be a few hundred words long. They are graded by your peers, and part of your grade is from you grading other students' writing. CPR isn't fun, but it helps raise a lot of people's grades. She only takes 3 out of the 4 for a grade so most people only did 3 of them."

Strengths
Dr. K is the BEST prof here at Texas A&M! I made a B in her class, but could of easily made an A if I did ANY of the online homework. Her tests are very similar to her notes, and she has weekly review sessions that help a ton! She gives a bunch of partial credit on her tests, and is a very nice and considerate lady. She care a lot for her students and that they succeed! I wish she taught ALL chem classes! Do anything you can to take her! I dont really enjoy going to class, but her class was very enjoyable! Overall she is a nice lady and will do everything she can to help you get the grade you want!"

Strengths
Dr. K is possibly the BEST teacher at A&M. I made 60s on her first 2 tests because i just refused to study. i pulled a 91 on the last test and final and still got an A because of the vast amount of extra credit and homework she gives you. She really gives you a lot of leeway. If you go and talk to her she'll try and help you out. It's not exactly an EASY A.. but if you put just a little effort you'll really want to take her. TAKE THE FREE RESPONSE TEST!! it's so much better than the multiple choice.
Drawbacks
CPR sucks a lot of time out of you.. but it really really REALLY helps your grade.. and everybody has to do it. ChemSkillBuilder is also a timesucker.. but just make sure you do it from the beginning and you'll get all your points."

Strengths
Dr. K really cares about her students. She has so many opprotunities available for her students to do well. She is easy to talk to and gets back to you very quickly if you email or call. She has pop quizes at the end class that are pretty easy if you paid attention to the lecture. She also has CSB due every few weeks. They can be pretty tedious but if you do them before the test they are helpful. She also assigns homework problems from the book that you can do if you. They are not required but they really help you study for your test. Her tests aren't too bad and if you can't take the test or just don't want to take it at the normal time, she has a makeup that isn't that much harder than the original test (it's just all work out as opposed to multiple choice). Take Dr. K! She's awesome!
Drawbacks
The only drawback I can think of is CPR. You have to write 3 essays out of 4 topics and review your peers work as well. It's not hard just a lot to do."

Strengths
Good excellent teacher who cares about her students. Tests are easy and very similiar to her previous exams. Explains everything very good.
Drawbacks
All the extra work. This class has essays, hw, and other busy work. It is a great way to make a higher grade, but can hurt your grade if you don't do it. Gives in class quizzes so you must attend class, however they are very easy and group work."
