* Texas A&M University's Policies and Procedures mandate that only the Physical Plant is authorized to make alterations in or repairs to buildings and the utilities systems. The function of the Departmental Shop personnel is the fabrication and repair of instructional/research apparatus which is connected to the utilities distribution system at convenience outlets in the electrical system, or at shut-off valves for water, air, gas, etc. There are good and compelling reasons for respecting the areas of jurisdiction. Consult Ronald G. Carter when there is doubt about the location of the interface between Department and Physical Plant responsibilities.
