Recognizing that , as a rule, a large percentage of the Chemistry Building personnel are well versed in emergency response for a limited scale emergency, this plan also encourages its personnel, if properly trained, to act as the first line of defense in mitigation of an emergency situation. In light of this, the procedures outlined below may be followed in case of a limited fire, chemical spill or medical emergency. Most importantly, however, all Chemistry Building personnel must become very familiar with the correct emergency escape procedure for those situations where immediate evacuation is the only recourse.
