This Emergency Response Plan will become operational under the following emergency situations:

A) a fire alarm activated within the Chemistry Building Complex

B) a report is received of a chemical spill which could affect the health and safety of the building occupants,

C) a toxic gas release occurs which could affect the health and safety of the building occupants, or

D) an individual receives injuries related to chemical spill or toxic gas release and requires immediate attention from the University's HazMat Team.

The fire alarm system will be used to activate this Plan. A fire will automatically trigger the alarm system. Manual activation of the system by the Scene Manager or other knowledgeable person, through the use of the pull stations, will be used to activate the Plan, if necessary, in the case of a hazardous material incident.
