Announcing Scudderfest
Paul Scudder has been teaching Organic Chemistry at New College for (nearly) 35 years, and his passion for the subject has inspired countless students during this time. This conference is our attempt to pay tribute to the impact that Scudder has had on our education, our careers, and our lives. The conference will feature a number of invited and contributed talks from former New College Chemistry and Biochemistry majors (as well as Scudder's PhD advisor, Barry Trost!). It will be a great opportunity to reconnect with old classmates and former professors and to forge new connections with other former New College students. This will also be a great chance to return to Sarasota and to New College in order to see what has changed over the years and what has stayed exactly the same.
So, if you are a practicing chemist or biochemist, we hope that you will come to Scudderfest to tell us about your research and to learn about the work being done by your fellow New College alumnae/i. Even if you are no longer directly involved in chemistry, we hope that you will still join us at Scudderfest in order to honor a great teacher, mentor, and friend.
