Kacey is a born and bred Texas native. He has previously worked with Dr. Daniel Romo at Texas A&M, studying the synthesisof natural product derivatives for use as leukemia cell replication inhibitors, and at the Institute of Applied Cancer Science at MD Anderson synthesizing oncological metabolic inhibitory compounds. He joined the Powers group and is studying organometallic oxidation catalysts.
