Sylvain Gatard  

 

Sylvain Gatard obtained his education in his native Bordeaux, France at Université Bordeaux I.  He earned his B.Sc. degree in 1997, his M.S. degree in 1999, and his Ph.D. in 2002 working with Prof. Didier Astruc in the Laboratoire de Chimie-Organique et Organométallique.  In 2002 Sylvain took a postdoctoral position at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel working with Prof. Ronny Neumann.  He was in our group from March of 2005 until August of 2007.  Sylvain primarily worked on the chemistry of (PNP)Rh compounds, with an emphasis on carbon-heteroatom oxidative addition reactions.  After leaving our group, he worked at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris as an ATER in 2007/08 and then started his new position at University of Reims as a Maître de Conférences in the fall of 2008.
