Former Ozerov Group Members
Nathanael (Nate) Hirscher
Nate is an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia (B.Sc. Chemistry, 2014), where he works in the Gunnoe group. Nate visited the Ozerov group for the summer of 2013. He worked on developing rhodium catalysts for the dehydrogenative borylation of terminal alkynes. His project also involved the use of a SiNN pincer ligand, so that he could characterize the structural features of Rh-SiNN complexes. In August, Nate won a 2nd place award for his poster presentation at the BASF Symposium, competing against other undergrads and many graduate students as well.
