Former Ozerov Group Members

Justin Walensky

Justin obtained his B.A. in Chemistry from New College of Florida in 2005 and did most of his undergraduate research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory with Dr. Annie Kersting.  In 2009 he obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine working with Prof. Bill Evans.  His research focused on the synthesis, structural characterization, and reactivity of new lanthanide and actinide compounds.  In 2009, Justin moved to Los Alamos National Laboratory on a Glenn T. Seaborg Institute Fellowship where he worked under Dr. Rich Martin, learning how to apply DFT to actinide complexes he synthesized at Irvine. In 2010, Justin was splitting his time between the Ozerov and Hall groups doing computational chemistry and also the Fackler group doing synthesis. In January 2011, Justin started a faculty position at University of Missouri-Columbia.

Justin's publication in the Ozerov group:
