Claudia Fafard  

 

Claudia Fafard (neé Moura) is a native of Peabody, Mass. She earned her B.S. degree from Merrimack College in 2004 working with Prof. Anthony Fernandez . Claudia joined the group in June of 2004, getting an early start to her first year of graduate school. Her major line of research was focused on the unusual structural trends and reactivity of certain PNP complexes of palladium. She also worked on the stoichiometric and catalytic applications of pincer complexes of Rh. Claudia was instrumental in creating the new Inorganic Chemistry teaching laboratory (CHEM39b) at Brandeis; she was a recipient of a TA award. Claudia defended her PhD in April of 2009 and joined the group of Prof. Christine Thomas as a postdoc. After the postdoctoral spell and a teaching appointment at Merrimack College, Claudia went to work for Air Liquide in Delaware.
