Congratulations to all our group members receiving awards recently! Congzhi and Xiaozhou each received a 2017 KANEKA Scholarship, and Congzhi also received the Chemistry Department's Research Award. In addition, Tianyu was selected as the 3rd place winner at the Polymer Technology Industrial Consortium's Poster Competition.

Also, undergraduate group member Kayla received the Jennifer Lynn Drost '99 Memorial Endowed Scholarship!

April 3rd-6th, 2017
The group was very active at the ACS National Meeting in San Francisco. Jongbok gave a talk on his RCM-based polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon work, Xiaozhou presented over the structure-property relationship of quinoidal quinacridone-based oligomers and polymers, and Congzhi gave a presentation over his work on controlling molecular conformations with hydrogen bonds.

Lei gave 3 invited talks: 1. Symposium of 2017 ACS Applied Polymer Science Award in Honor of Zhenan Bao; 2. PMSE Young Investigator’s Symposium; and 3. Polymer Chemistry (RSC) Lectureship honoring Feihe Huang.

In addition, Lei also co-organized the PMSE symposium on “Synthesis, processing and device engineering of polymeric electronic materials”
