The eight finalists of the 2010 Texas Junior Science and Humanities Symposium are, from left to right: Jordan Zesch, Caroline Lopez-Trevino, Neil Redfield, Andrew Mahre, Rounok Jourdar, Derek Lam, Michele Myong, and Elizabeth Quigley (who is not shown in picture). These high school students are nominated by their teachers to give a presentation in one of four different categories. Two students from each category are then selected to give further presentations for a chance to win top prizes, which include scholarship money, and a paid trip to the symposium.
