The Beta Beta Chapter of Phi Lambda Upsilon was chartered on May 4, 1957 at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, currently known as Texas A&M University. Dr. Ralph Zingaro, a charter member, is still on faculty at Texas A&M. Since then the Beta Beta Chapter has remained an active honor and service fraternity in the chemistry department.
