Headshot of Dr. Wenshe LiuDr. Wenshe Liu will join the Department of Chemistry at Texas A&M University as an assistant Professor in August 2007. Dr. Liu received his B.S. degree in the area of physical chemistry from Beijing University in China in 2000 and finished his graduate work in the area of biochemistry at the University of California at Davis under the supervision of Dr. Michael D. Toney. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 2005, he have been working with Dr. Peter G. Schultz in the Scripps Research Institute as a postdoctoral researcher, where he has moved his research area to chemical biology to device a general way to integrate unnatural amino acids into proteins in mammalian cells. Dr. Liu's future research will focus on the synthesis in the interface of chemistry and biology and protein-protein interaction network in signal transduction pathways.
