Jaan Laane has been selected to receive the 2005 Ellis R. Lippincott Award. The award is given annually by the Optical Society of America, the Coblentz Society, and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy to "an individual who has made significant contributions to vibrational spectroscopy as judged by his or her influence on other scientists."
