Student Seminars: The Main
Page
The definition of each type of
departmental seminar is listed below. All seminar
titles can be found
on the Department's calendar.
If you have
further questions on a specific seminar, please contact the
person
listed by that seminar.
Student
Literature Seminar
- The Student Seminars are given as part
of the Chemistry 681
requirement. These seminars take place on
Mondays at 4 PM. Usually two or three
student seminars will run
concurrently, typically in 2102, 2104, and 2121, so
you can pick
which one you prefer to attend. These seminars are
scheduled by the
Graduate Student Office (GSO).
Inorganic
Research Seminar - Members of
the Inorganic division are required
to attend (and give) a student
research seminar. An inorganic faculty
member is in charge of these
seminars and can provide more
information.
Outside Speaker Seminars -
Faculty from other universities
describe their research at seminars
generally scheduled Tuesday -
Friday at 4 PM. Attendance is
encouraged.
Frontiers
Seminars - Frontiers Lectures are part of a required course
(Chem 695). These
seminars are generally on Monday, Tuesday, and
Wednesday at 5 PM for the weeks
that there are speakers, which is not
every week. E-mail announcements will be
sent out.
If
you have any specific questions, please contact the person and/or
office in charge of the different seminar types. We encourage you to
attend
as many seminars as possible as they are very helpful in your
academic and scientific
career.
