Dr. David Russell, HeadOn behalf of my faculty colleagues, our staff and students I am pleased to welcome you to our website. Texas A&M’s Chemistry Department is both large and highly ranked. Our faculty (ranked in the top 10% in quality of faculty by the NRC) have expertise in a wide range of areas from biological to nuclear and from inorganic to polymer chemistry. The faculty competence is supported with a comprehensive array of state-of-the-art instrumentation and facilities.

The faculty and the infrastructure are the prerequisites for our mission of teaching, research and service. For undergraduate students we offer degree programs with flexibility for a diversity of career goals always with emphasis on laboratory practice and participation in research. A number of scholarships are available based on academic merit. At the graduate level, we have one of the larger Ph.D. programs in the United States; over 400 Ph.D.s were awarded to chemistry graduates in the last 10 years. Our purpose is to educate junior scholars to become scientists who can be leaders in chemistry. An extra dimension in our graduate program are the opportunities for professional development. One example is the annual graduate research symposium sponsored by the Industry-University Cooperative Chemistry Program for an audience of industrial chemists and Ph.D. recruiters.

Please feel free to contact me or any one of my colleagues. We welcome your inquiries and your visits!
