First Year Chemistry at Texas A&M University comprises two 2-semester courses and two 1-semester courses. As the science that describes matter, chemistry is central to a student's understanding of many fields of study from health to the environment to the evaluation of materials. As educated college graduates, our students are likely to discover that is important to be able to understand, interpret, and evaluate situations involving the molecular world.

To fulfill the need for a molecular science course, we have Chemistry 101 and 102 for the biological, pre-medicine, business, and agriculture related fields of study; Chemistry 106 for the elementary education, kinesiology, liberal arts, etc., fields; Chemistry 103 and 104 for chemistry and biochemistry majors; and Chemistry 107 for engineering majors.

Each of these courses has a laboratory component. There are also honors sections of Chemistry 101 and 102. In this assortment of courses, there should be one suitable for every field of study.

On the web site, you will find every professors' course and lab information plus links to relevant sites.
