Graphing

Graphs must include:
  1. A descriptive title sufficient to identify the graph should it become detached from the report.
  2. A header including last name and experiment number is also encouraged.
  3. Titles for each axis including units where appropriate.
  4. Graphs will be one full page in size.
  5. Only one graph per page. (Use the On Separate Sheet option in Excel)
  6. Legends are suggested when plotting more than one data set per graph.
  7. Excel is a quick and easy way to plot your data and a tutorial is provided to help you use this tool if you are unfamiliar with it.
  8. When using Excel select x-y scatter plots and then select the data point only option.
  9. Trendlines may be inserted by right clicking on a data point.  It is suggested that the display R2 value and display equation options be selected.
  10. With the exception of complex curves such as the potentiometric titration shown above graphs are to consist of data points and trendlines only.
