• Time:
  • Section 501: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:35 - 10:50 am
  • Section 502: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:45 - 2 pm

You can also buy a hardback text at a discount on this site (I would also look at Amazon.com for a used book). If you buy "Access Code for Entry into OWL for TEXAS A&M, Thomson Learning College Publishers, make sure it is for TAMU students because OWL for TAMU is different than other OWL codes.

• The T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. Project For giggles! The scientific investigation of the common Twinkie. T.W.I.N.K.I.E.S. stands for "Tests With Inorganic Noxious Kakes In Extreme Situations."
• Reference Site: Martindale's "The Reference Desk: Science Tables & Databases." This site is a part of a more complete website for science education links, supported by UC Irvine.
• A FUN On-Line Course: A set of over 1200 lecture slides and 33 animations for a two-semester 8-credit hour General Chemistry course! Good for background. It even includes on-line quizzes. The presentations have been organized to follow the text Chemistry for Today, 2nd Edition by Seager and Slabaugh which is published by West Educational Publishing. Check it out!
• The ChemTeam: a great tutorial of high school chemistry - in progress! This site has practice problems and answers.
• www.ChemReview.net: Visit for additional help with 'math-oriented' Chemistry topics.
• For a SCIENCE break, visit one of the many Science Museums located around the world!
• Personality Test and Learning Style Test (VARK): The Personality test is a fun, quick Myers-Briggs-like test (akin to the Keirsey Temperament Sorter) to categorize your temperament, while the short VARK questionnaire describes your learning style.

  This is your Quiz 1. Please take both quizzes on line, noting your 4 letters (e.g. my score: INTJ) and your scores from VARK (my score: Visual=11, Aural=8, Read/Write=13, Kinesthetic=7). You'll find info on your learning styles on the site.

  In an e-mail send me (1) your 4 letters from the personality test,(2) your 4 values for the VARK and (3) if you want, a short paragraph on what you thought of the quizzes. If you have taken one or both of these before, just send me your data.

  Short explanations of the 4 resulting types from the Personality Test are on the page. How each of you learn as students can be better understood from this model.
