Chemistry Makes Cleaning Possible!
The unifying event for this year’s NCW celebration will be Chemistry Makes Cleaning Possible, a collection drive for personal hygiene products to benefit local food banks and charities. Our Texas A&M American Chemical Society-Student Affiliate Chapter will be collecting items such as soap, toothpaste, and shampoo to donate to charity, so bring your items when you come to the Chemistry Open House on November 2.
Chemistry Open House will be held on November 2, 2002 beginning at 9:45am in the foyer of the old part of the main Chemistry Building by the 3 round brick fountains, called the H2O fountains. (This is not the Heldenfels building). Here is another CAMPUS MAP showing parking, our building and the Sbisa Dining Hall. An All-You-Can-Eat Lunch Buffet is available at Sbisa Dining Hall for the special price of $5.50 with $1 off coupon obtained at the Welcome Table - thanks to TAMU Food Service.
Start your adventures by checking in at the Welcome Table and getting your bag of chemistry goodies.
Two Chemistry Road Shows, featuring fires, explosions, weird polymers, super cold materials and other things will be in Room 100 of the main Chemistry building at 10am and 2pm.
Door prizes will be given out at both shows.
Other activities at Chemistry Open House will be underway between 11am and 2pm.
They will include lots of hands-on and computer activities, guided lab tours, and demonstrations.
