2011 Texas Junior Science and Humanities Symposium

The Poster Competition Awards in each of the two divisions were as follows: Natural Science: Malvika Gupta, 1st place, and Preeti Singhal, 2nd place; Physical Science & Engineering: Ari Gao, 1st place, and Evelyn Ho, 2nd place.

The eight finalists of the Symposium Research Paper Competition were: Amy Chyao, Audrey Hettinger, Aileen Huang, Wenxi (Sheryl) Li, Ishita Madan, Lisa Michaels, Siddharth Sant, and Kimberley Yu.

The top winners were:

  • 1ST PLACE: Lisa Michaels, from Shepton High School, received a trophy and a $2,000 undergraduate tuition scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Army.
  • 2ND PLACE: Amy Chyao, from Plano East Senior High School, received a trophy and a $1,500 undergraduate tuition scholorship sponsored by the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force.
  • 3RD PLACE: Wenxi (Sheryl) Li, from Plano Senior High School, received a trophy and a $1,000 undergraduate tuition scholarship sponsored by the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force.
