Graduate Application Instructions for International Applicants

An International Applicant is not a US citizen/national or a permanent resident in the US.

The application deadline for international applications for Fall 2014 is December 15, 2013. Early submittal of complete applications is encouraged for consideration for internal fellowships. A complete application consists of the following:

1. Application on ApplyTexas.org.
2. Statement of Purpose (Answered as the Essay portion on your ApplyTexas application.) Please see “What is a Statement of Purpose” on our FAQ page for more information.
   Note: Your application and Statement of Purpose must be submitted online at ApplyTexas.org. Once submitted, your application and statement of purpose cannot be edited.
3. Official transcripts including English translation should be mailed. Please see our FAQ page for the mailing address. Transcripts from US institutions can be submitted electronically via the SPEEDE format.
4. 3 Letters of Recommendation. Please request letters from your recommenders by using the Electronic Letter of Recommendation system (eLOR) via the Applicant Access portion of the Howdy Portal. At least 2 letters should be from chemists.
   Note: You must contact your recommenders by using our eLOR system. We do not contact your letter writers from the ApplyTexas application.
5. GRE Scores. Texas A&M University code is 6003 and the Department of Chemistry code is 0301.
6. GRE-Chemistry score. The GRE Biochemistry or GRE Physics test may also be submitted when interest is for the corresponding areas of chemistry.
7. TOEFL or IELTS Scores. Texas A&M University code is 6003. No department code is needed.
8. CV. Please upload your CV directly via the Applicant Access portion of the Howdy Portal. Please see “What is a CV?” on our FAQ page for more information.
9. Application Fee. The application fee can be paid by credit card or can choose to pay later by check or money order. This fee is waived if the applicant completed all four years of undergraduate degree work at as US institution.
